About Auto Cash Title Loans: Our Team & Editorial Standards
Auto Cash Title Loans is an information site about car title loans. We publish plain-English guides that explain how title loans work, what they really cost, the rules in each state, your rights as a borrower, and the cheaper options worth checking before you put your car on the line. We are not a lender: we don’t make loans, approve applications or broker loans.
Why we exist
People usually look up title loans when money is tight and time is short. Much of what they find online is written to sell a loan, not to explain one. We want borrowers to understand the true cost, the repossession risk and the alternatives before they sign anything, and to know where to turn if a loan has already gone wrong.
What we cover
- How title loans work and what lenders require
- Costs, interest rates and fees, with a calculator
- Repayment, refinancing and repossession
- Your rights as a borrower, including military, bankruptcy and scam protections
- State-by-state title loan laws and lender reviews
- Cheaper alternatives, such as credit union loans and payment plans
Our editorial standards
Every guide is written and maintained by the Auto Cash Title Loans editorial team to the same standards:
- Built on primary sources. Legal and cost information is based on state statutes and regulators, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), and federal law such as the Truth in Lending Act and the Military Lending Act. State pages list their sources.
- No unverifiable claims. If we can’t confirm a figure (a rate cap, a fee, a lender policy), we leave it out or clearly say it varies, rather than guess. When we rewrote our guides in October 2026, we removed claims that didn’t hold up.
- Balanced on risk. We explain the costs, the repossession risk and the debt-cycle risk of title loans alongside how they work, and we cover alternatives because they are often the better choice.
- Hedged where laws differ. Title loan rules change from state to state and over time, so we tell you to confirm current terms with your state regulator and the lender.
- General information, not advice. Our guides are educational. For a decision about your own situation, talk to a nonprofit credit counselor, legal aid office or licensed professional.
How we review lenders
Our lender reviews follow a published method covering licensing, cost transparency, repayment terms, repossession practices and complaint records. Read how we review lenders.
Who’s behind the site
Auto Cash Title Loans is produced by the Auto Cash Title Loans editorial team, which researches, writes and updates the guides on this site. Pages are reviewed for accuracy against their sources before publication and revisited when laws or lender practices change.
Corrections
If you spot an error or an out-of-date law, please tell us. We review every correction request and update the page if we got something wrong. Accuracy matters more to us than being right.
